Calamari

I'm really in the mood for some calamari. It's one of the only sea foods I like and it's freaking delicious. It's not always good, I've had some where there wasn't enough spices on it and I've had some paired with a dip that didn't go with it. The best time I've ever had calamari was at East side Mario's, it had a spicy taste to it from the jalapeno which just made the dish. This one time I had it at Mr Greek and it was the first time I had with where it was the whole squid. At first it was weird to look at but once I put it in my mouth it was filled with flavours. I'd do anything to have some calamari right now.

Pans

I got my pans as a Christmas gift but I still need my pans. I need to find a job so I can save up and get myself some. I would love some that are stainless steal because you can put them in the over and they also hold up heat really good. You don't need to put the burner on high at all or else you will burn your food. Other pans I would like are the Rachael Ray's they have this orange handle on them so you don't burn yourself. I find them really pretty and I would love to have them!

School

I was thinking of how i'm going to pay for college, and it's hard since I don't have a job. A job is hard as heck to find right now and i've been looking. Since I finished my coop i'm going to go ask my manager if she could write me a reference letter or even talk to her about a job. I'm taking a year off before going to school then ill see how I am going to do because who knows if I work in kitchens and get discoverd I might not even need to go to college.

Boston Pizza

What did I learn at Boston Pizza? Well I learned quite abit. Most of it was about prepping but I did get into the cooking on buildline which is where the pizza get made. I never got to the pasta stations because I wasnt there long enough but i'm happy happy about that. I still need my speed on buildline. I wasn't really fast but that's something that would come. I also learned that when your food needs to get brought back to the kitchen it's usually the waitresse's fault but sometimes it is the kitchen. I don't send food back into a kitchen anymore because I know what it's like to be back there and it isn;t to fun to remake something because you screwed up.

Done

I'm done my coop at Boston Pizza, and I didn't think I would be sad but I kinda am. It was time consuming but it did make me happy being around people that make me laugh and also doing what I love. Sure the prep sucks but it's always where you're going to start in a kitchen. I was hoping to get hired but I can't see it happening yet, but this is going to help me get a job in another kitchen since I got loads of experience. Kitchens here I come!

So Hungry

I just woke up and it's eleven. For me that means lunch time! Which is my second favorite time of the day ha ha, first is dinner of course. Well back to what I was going to talk about, I have no idea what to make. I do have a deap-frier so I think i'm going to make myself some homemade fries. Just talking about this is making me hungrier and making my mouth water. I haven't made myself fries in a really long time. I think the time has come.

Oh God

Oh God, this show French Food At Home drives me insane! She's not even french to begin with why is she doing this show? The food she makes doesn't even remind me of french food, reminds me more of English food. She probably did study french food in college but I don't like it. When ever she comes on television, you can count on me changing the channel.

Laughing At Me?

My friends all laugh at me for things I want. I remeber this one time I was sitting at the computers one time looking at knife. My friend turns over and goes " What the heck is wrong with you?" I start to laugh and tell him "Man I love too cook you jerk you know this" then he starts laughing because they don't think it's cool that it is what I want to be when I grow up. I really don't care what they think it's what I love. I'll just never cook for them.

Pots

For my christmas I finaly got my kitchen pots! I've wanted these for about two years now and man they are nice. My uncle bought them for me because he knows about much I love to cook and he also knows how much I love kitchen aid. There stuff is really nice looking and it works pretty good. The only thing that sucks about kitchen aid is that its expensive! I can't wait to use them in my own kitchen, that nice stainless steal will cook me amazing things.

Mornings

It's morning in my house right now and no ones here. I've decided to watch the food networkand its the show Chef At Home. I love this guy, he doesn't even cook with a recipe which is awsome to me. Most cooks have there stuff planed ahead on there shows, but not this guy. He just starts with something then when he looks in his pantree he gets new ideas and just adds them to what hes making. A great thing about him too is that he's a canadien ha ha they do things so much better.

Vegetables

I really don't eat enough vegetables. I don't like many of them and that bothers me. There so healthy for you and stuff but some taste just plain out nasty. Most taste like dirt to me. This is why when I will be making food that needs to have vegetables, I make them really small so that I don't see them but I get my nutrition from them. They also give what ever you are making a flavor which is really good to have. You don't want food that is tasteless.

Other Opitions

If I ever end up changing my mind about being a Chef, I think I will go after being a Firefighter. It's a more intense job but the fact that I would be saving peoples lives would make me really happy. If I do want to do this I will need to start going to the gym and working out to get myself in shape for this. It could be the job for me because it is a male profession but I have always gotten along with guys. I wouldn't have a problem fitting in there.

T.V

It`s funny how every time that I will come and watch t.v I end up at least once watching the food network. I think if some people came over they would honestly think, "Why are you watching this?" I would answer with "Because it is what makes me happy" I never leave my work sad or angry because it is in a kitchen. When I watch these shows I get new ideas for recipes and stuff. It's really neat.

Saturday Day Lunch

It`s a saturday and it is almost lunch time and I am trying to figure out what to eat. I am thinking of making myself a homemade soup or ricearoonie. There completly different things but they are both so good. It`s so hard to pick right now because I am just so hungry and I don`t feel like getting up right now. I need to feed myself so I will end up picking one of those two things or even look trough the fridge to make something that isn`t even on my mind.

When I Grow Up

When I grow up, I would love to be a famous Chef. The one thing I would hate about it, is the fame. I would hate to be followed around all the time and have untrue things said about me on the Internet. It's a price I will need to pay if I make it to the top. One of the great things about it would be that I would be making a lot of money which would mean, I would have a huge house and the dream kitchen I have always wanted. It will be really hard to juggle my personal life and my work life, but it is something I am willing to do.

Gordon Ramsay

Gordan Ramsay is a man I would love to meet and talk to. Most people see him as a really mean and rude man because of his show "Hells Kitchen". He's really not that if you watch his show "The F Word" you would notice that he's a really nice man. Yes he should'nt be yelling at people like that but it's television, he needs to spice up the show so people will watch and talk about it. If I do ever succeed and hit the top of the cooking charts hopefully he will want to come and meet me.

Fried Rice

Tonight I need to cook and I’m kind of excited for it. I haven’t cooked in a while and tonight I’m going to treat myself. I’m going to be making my own chicken fried rice. I’ll be putting celery, carrots, red onion, green onion and the best of it all bean sprouts. I’m in love with that vegetable it’s so good. I remember when I was younger my mom would take me and my sisters to the mall for some chicken fried rice and I would just love to eat the bean sprouts. I’m really excited to eat them tonight!

Creme Brulee

I’m really not a dessert person but on the weekend I decided to try one. It was so freaking good. I had Crème Brulee. The thing I don’t like about dessert is that most of them are really sweet and that hurts my mouth. This dessert wasn’t anything like that at all. It was a very rich type thing. It was really good. I’m not a baker or good with desserts but this is something I would really enjoy to make for a treat.

Birthday Dinner

On the weekend, I went out to dinner with my Mother, her boyfriend Robert and my good friend Hollie. I told my Mother that I wanted it to be a surprised where we went out for dinner. I love food surprises! They decided to take us to an Italian restaurant downtown Whitby. It was so delicious I still can’t get over how good it was. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was that there wasn’t much to pick from the menu. It’s something you need to deal with when you do to an expensive restaurant.

Tongue Piercing

I got my tongue pierced a few days ago and it kind of sucks right now. I’m the type of girl who absolutely loves to eat, and right now I can’t eat all the stuff I want. I need to stay away from dairy products, spicy food and also hard food. I really like my piercing but man this not eating what I want thing SUCKS! Once the swelling goes down I will be able to eat all the normal food again. I will not need to live off jello soon enough. I cannot wait for that day to come.
